DMX started rapping as early as the mid 1990s. In May 1998, the rapper released his debut album, It's Dark and HELL IS HOT. There were many albums released over the years, including... and Then There Was X... again Redemption of the Beast grand champ... The Great Depression Year of the Dog... The album, titled...And Then Was X was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2001. The success of his music was further enhanced with appearances in films such as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five - Exit Wounded, Never Die Alone - The Bleeding Romeo must die Backstage - Beyond the Law Lockjaw - Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
